Tiscali Wireless Router Trial

TalkTalk Labs are happy to announce the Tiscali Wireless Routers Trial.

This trial will help us test 2 new wireless routers with Tiscali customers. The routers are the Huawei HG521 and the Huawei HG532 wireless routers.

We are looking to recruit 200 trialists that are existing Tiscali Broadband customers.

This trial is to use and test the new wireless routers as your normal day to day router and report back your findings on its good and not so good points.

We want you to use the new wireless router as you normally would use your existing ADSL modem/router. Let us know if you have any issues with connecting any devices in your home to it that connected to your existing ADSL modem/router. What is your general impression of the device?

The main points of interest to the Labs team are:

  1. Stability - does it improve the stability of your ADSL connection?
  2. Sync rate and line conditions discrepancies
  3. Wired performance
  4. Wireless performance
  5. Wireless range
  6. Streaming tasks (Especially over wireless)
  7. Wireless G and N adapter interoperability
  8. Sharing computers over the wireless/wired network and the internet
  9. We request that trialists install and run the TalkTalk Labs software before receiving the new routers so we can compare the performance of your connection both before and after you getting and using the new routers.

By applying for this trial, it is understood by you that the unit is not a supported wireless modem/router and therefore will not be supported by the standard TalkTalk Customer and Technical Support teams. We will be able to provide support via e-mail tiscalinewrouters@talktalk-labs.com.

It would be appreciated if your feedback is comprehensive, regular, and is sent through to the Labs team via the feedback system. We advise you to keep your existing router safe just in case you experience any issue so that you can switch back if needed.

There will be no requests or preferences for which router a trialist is given. They will be allocated per the requirements of the trial to gain maximum results.
